Linebacker Nick Barnett of the Packers tweets that general manager Ted Thompson told him this morning he would be released.
Barnett also tweeted “Thanks for the great 8 years. Very blessed 2 be apart of such a great tradition and great fans.” The 30-year-old from Oregon State has been with the club since he was drafted back in the 2003 season.
Last year he played in just four games due to injury and had 19 tackles. The season before in 16 games he had 105 tackles and four sacks.
