Packers Patriots Game Recap

Mike McCarthyFinally, a game that lived up to the hype. The Thanksgiving games me as much satisfaction as eating a turkey loaf.  Rodgers and Brady showed why they are the best in the NFL. Both have average defenses and running games. If you think the Patriots defense is a great defense. The Packers racked up over 400 yards of offense. A great defense doesn’t give up that kind of yardage. I am doing something new for the recap. I want to give game balls to those who deserved them.

  1. Aaron Rodgers- Rodgers at this point in his career is better than Brady. It’s that simple. Also, Rodgers was a little inconsistent on his throws. He had a throw to Jordy in the fourth quarter if Rodgers hits Jordy in stride. Jordy is still running and had a good chance to score. If Rodgers is on his game like he was in Atlanta in 2010 playoffs, it’s over no team can stop him. But, Rodgers was a little off in this game and he still out dueled Brady.
  2. Richard Rodgers, Davante Adams, Sam Barrington- All played pivotal roles in the game. Yes, Adams dropped the touchdown pass. But, otherwise he smoked the Patriots secondary. Barrington replaced Hawk and guess what he made plays. He had a pivotal play in stopping Blount from getting first down in the fourth quarter. Rodgers made a nice catch in the endzone, and in the third quarter he made a first down catch after being blasted by a Patriots cornerback.
  3. McCarthy- He made all the right decisions in keeping the Patriots guessing. Belichick was guessing after awhile. McCarthy made the right adjustments making their linebackers cover running backs. That is impossible for nearly all linebackers in the NFL. If McCarthy and the Packers reach the Super bowl, hopefully McCarthy can still scheme to win.
  4. The offensive line- All these guys do is battle. Every week is a grind and they stay in to make this team special.

Now we have to finish and win out. Get home field advantage and make Lambeau the special place it used to be. No one wins in our house!
