Packers Eagles Preview

This game is hard to pick who will win. The Eagles and Packers both have elite offenses. The Eagles defense has been on a tear lately. The defensive line has over ten sacks in last three games. The Packers defense has been a turn over machine. Mathews new position at inside linebacker looked like a good choice. Of course McCarthy is not saying if Matthews will stay there. Let’s look at the three areas the Packers need to address if they have a chance to win this game.

  1. The offensive line: Lang and Sitton are still hurt. The news is that they are probable for Sunday. The offensive needs to get the running game going early, and keep the Eagles offense off the field. Also, they need to keep Rodgers untouched so he is able to extend plays. If the Packers can keep a balance between the run and pass they should be able to win this game.
  2. Defensive line: The Packers need to keep pressure on Sanchez to force him into bad throws. Packers are no longer dead last against the run. McCoy is not having a great year, that could change if the defensive line doesn’t stop McCoy. This game is the perfect time for the defensive line to step up.
  3. Special teams- The Packers have to win the special teams battle. McCarthy needs to take advantage of the Eagles by using a different gadget plays. What I mean by that is the Packers take a playbook from the Rams who always seems to have great special teams play, especially the play did against the Seahawks.  Mason Crosby could be the deciding factor in this game, if it goes to overtime.

I believe this will be a close game, maybe not as many points as expected. In the end the Packers 31-27 Eagles.
