Packers Bears Review Game For The Ages

Detroit Lions v Green Bay Packers

Thoughts after week seventeen Atlanta and Green Bay. Let’s do a quick review of the season. Rodgers goes down for seven weeks, The Packers defense is horrible, the injury plague hits the Packers again, and we only won two games in Rodgers absence. Of course, we had to win the game against the Bears in the final seconds. What do you think it was going to be easy?

I’ll be honest with you Packer Nation. I didn’t Rodgers could pull it out, check his fourth quarter comeback record. It’s awful. I was wrong and I love being wrong when it comes to an exciting win over our rival Da Bears.

First the good: Aaron Rodgers. Enough said. Actually, one more thing regarding Rodgers. After the game winning throw to Cobb Rodgers looked like he just won the Super Bowl. Let’s hope we see that look again in New York.

The Bad: Run defense. I usually don’t agree with Troy Aikman who was broadcasting the game for FOX. But, he was right the defense couldn’t set the edge. Forte got out on the edge and it was like everyone on the defense thought he was going to run out of bounds. James Lattimore needs to live in the film room this week.

The Good: Kuhn/Cobb tandem. Jon Kuhn doesn’t make that chip block of Peppers and not even Rodgers can escape that sack. Cobb is back. He looked strong and never seemed hesitant in his route running. The Packers will need him this Sunday.

The Bad: One sack. Two games in a row and we have two sacks. That is not good enough. Cutler had all day back in the pocket. Capers has to figure out a new scheme, or trust that his secondary can make plays so he can blitz more.

The Good: This team didn’t give up, even when they had three fourth downs to make. It’s hard enough to make one fourth down. But, three fourth downs. When Rodgers ran for that fourth down and slammed into the turf. I knew right then, we’re not losing this game.

I give the Packers a 3 out of 5 for this game. Playoffs up next.
