Thoughts after week nine Philadelphia and Green Bay. Is the Packers defense really this bad? Two weeks in a row the defense has collapsed in the fourth quarter. I’m not sure why the defense is collapsing. Capers and McCarthy better figure it out quickly or this season is lost.
First the good: Scott Tolzein. I know he threw an interception at the goal line. But, if Jones stays in bounds in the end zone and Nelson catches the pass in the end zone. The game takes a huge turn for us. Quarless and Boykin also dropped critical passes. You have remember Tolzein was behind a make shift offensive line. The Packers lost Barclay and Dietrich-Smith during the game. TJ Lang hardly practiced all week due to a concussion.
The Bad: The Secondary. Would someone please explain to me how two lame duck passes are caught for touchdowns? MD Jennings please cut him immediately. Tramon Williams remember 2010? Morgan Burnett claims he didn’t see Williams when he ran right into him and the ball went off them into the hands of Jackson the receiver for the Eagles.
The Good: Eddie Lacy. I would like to tell Eddie, “we’re sorry that you have to do everything yourself.” Can you play defense by the way?
The Bad: Tackling. The Eagles ran it down the Packers throats in the final nine minutes. You know it’s bad when Nick Foles the Eagles quarterback lumbers and I mean lumbers for a total of 38 yards for the game. The Packers defense looks like they gave up. They have lost total confidence and are accepting their fate.
The Good: To end on a positive note. I think Tolzein shows promise. We just signed Flynn, and hopefully Rodgers will be back very soon.
I give the Packers a 2 out of 5 for this game. Giants are up next. The Packers need this game to even have a chance of making the playoffs.
