Packers Review Baltimore and Green Bay

Thoughts after week five Baltimore and Green Bay. The Packers continue to be hit by injuries. This time the Packers toughed it out and won.

Here is my review of the game.

First the good: The Packers defense were physical and tough. AJ Hawk where have you been? Hawk looked like a top five first round pick. He looked fast and was a force in the defense. Hawk fell off in the second half, due to Baltimore making adjustments. The defense again had a multiple sack game. Once Matthews and Hayward comes back. This defense could be special.

The Bad: The red zone offense again. Week in and week out the Packers look lost in the red zone. What makes it more confusing is the weapons the Packers have. Lacy is a battering ram, Finley is a total mismatch, and Jordy Nelson is special. I need answers so we as Packer Fans can send our suggestions to Coach McCarthy.

The Good: Jermichael Finley like Hawk was special too. Yes, he made a bonehead move by not running out of bounds. With Jones and Cobb out Finley stepped up. I also have to give a mention to Crosby he has his groove back.

The Bad: Special Teams. John Kuhn is still a Packer folk hero. His bone head move with touching the football could have been a huge turning point in the game. I know there are a bunch of new faces on special teams. Sloccum needs to coach them up not just throw them out there.

The Good: McCarthy and the Packers coaching staff. Every week the Packers seem to lose key players. Jones and Cobb two playmakers on offense got injured early. McCarthy balanced the offense to keep Baltimore’s guessing for the game.
If this coaching staff can continue to make this team better, the Packers have a chance to win another championship.

I give the Packers a 4 out of 5 for this game. The sports talk shows made a big deal that the Packers are a tough team. I believe they are tough team and all they need know is to become a special team. Cleveland is up next.
