This week it is Green Bay and Washington. I’m not supposed to use the word Redskins. Whoops. In my opinion they should change the name. I’m sure if you held a contest the fans could come with a cool name.
Back to the preview of the Game. I’ll stick to my three things to watch.
1. The Running Game: Now is the time to get it going against Washington. The Packers tried last week to no avail. In defense of the Packers, they were facing a top run defense. The main reason in getting the run game going is fear. If Washington fears Lacy, then good things will happen. Rodgers will use the play action to keep Washington’s defense guessing all game long. Also, instilling fear to our upcoming opponents. If defense coordinators are losing sleep over defending Aaron Rodgers, and know have to stop the Packers running game too. Good Luck.
2. Special Teams: I’m going to come out and say it, how is Slocum able to keep his job?For as long he has been here the special teams coach. The Packers have been horrible on special teams. Randall Cobb saved Slocum’s job last year. I think we can all agree on that. McCarthy realizes he cannot put Cobb on special teams anymore. The Packers have a bad enough time keeping guys healthy. Exposing Cobb to further injury wouldn’t be smart on McCarthy’s part. Ross has to step it up this week. He looks tentative and is very slow.
3. Safety play: Jennings and McMillian better have stocked up on the Red Bull and watched film all day and night. Both of them said this week to the press, “We will play better.” I have news for you. You better. If it gets any worse Morgan Burnett can hop around on one leg and probably still outplay the both of you.
My final thoughts are that the Packers should win this game. I think it will be close early on, but the Packers pull away from Washington. Packers 27-17 Washington
