The Lambeau Field expansion is nearly complete, Nikki Junewicz of WBAY in Green Bay reports. The project includes 7000 new seats, a new Miller Lite Lounge,Terrace Suites, and 600 level concourse are among the other additions. Officials say fans will be surprised at how well they blend in.
“I think the surprising thing people are going to see when they come into Lambeau Field is how this fits into the fabric of Lambeau, its rich history and tradition. It really looks like it’s been there the whole time,” says Stuart Zadra, vice president of Hammes Company, the contractor on the project.
With 7,000 seats added, the expansion allowed the team to pull 5,000 names off the extremely long waiting list for season tickets, the most ever in one season.
“The folks coming off the list have been on for 30 years, so there’s some patience on their part. That’s the great thing with the support the Packers have,” says Popkey.
Those guiding the tour say they couldn’t be happier with how smoothly the project went and how great the end product looks.
The entire project, with the finishing touches, is set to be completed by July 18th, in time for the July 24th shareholders meeting.
