Packers rookie defensive lineman Jerel Worthy is out for the season after suffering a knee injury in Sunday’s regular-season finale.
“Worthy had a season-ending injury,” coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. “You can ask him (about specifics) if he wants to share that with you.”
Worthy, a second-round pick by Green Bay (No. 51 overall), started four games this season and had 2.5 sacks, 14 tackles and one forced fumble. He was unavailable during the team’s locker room session to ask about the injury.
Worthy played 467 of the Packers’ 991 defensive snaps (47 percent) this season in games in which he was active. Of Green Bay’s defensive linemen, only full-time starters B.J. Raji and Ryan Pickett were on the field more.
