LB Walden Pleads No Contest to Disorderly Conduct Charge

Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden plead no contest to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct-domestic abuse charge in Brown County on Friday.

Walden was arrested last November 25 after a domestic disturbance left his live-in girlfriend with injuries. Walden’s girlfriend has changed her story, saying she initiated the physical contact and that Walden was defending himself. If Walden completes 50 hours of community service and continues to undergo counseling, the charge will be dismissed.

A 2008 sixth-round pick out of Middle Tennessee State by the Dallas Cowboys, Walden has appeared in 53 games over the last four seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Packers, where he’s started 17 of 25 games and recorded 85 tackles with six quarterback sacks.

Walden is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this off-season.
