Packers Increase Pay Of Practice Squad WR Borel, CB Ross

Packers wide receiver Tori Gurley isn’t the only member of the team’s practice squad to receive a pay bump recently.

According to NFLPA records, wide receiver Diondre Borel and cornerback Brandian Ross are now being compensated at a $375,000 rate ($22,059 per week), the same they would make if they were on an NFL active roster and well above the standard $5,700 per week they had been making while on the practice squad.

Both rookie free agents signed with the Packers after the lockout ended, with Utah State product Borel signing for $7,500 and former Youngstown State standout Ross receiving a $3,000 signing bonus. In the preseason, Borel caught two passes for 35 yards with a 23-yard punt return and a 32-yard kick return, while Ross had 11 tackles with an interception and a forced fumble.

Waived at the end of training camp, both have been on the Packers practice squad since Week 1.

Before he was added to the 53-man roster three weeks ago, Packers quarterback Graham was earning $12,500 per week ($212,500 over a 17-week season) as a member of the team’s practice squad.
