Pack Promotes QB Graham Harrell to the Active Roster

The Packers announced the promotion of quarterback Graham Harrell from the practice squad to the active roster.

Harrell replaces second-year tight end Andrew Quarless, who has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury during Sunday’s 38-35 win over the New York Giants.

Undrafted out of Texas Tech, Harrell joined the Packers in 2010, spending much of the season on the practice squad before he was added to the 53-man roster in Week 15. Harrell has been on the Packers’ practice squad since the start of the 2011 season, earning a weekly salary of $12,500, well above the $5,700 minimum.

In eight preseason games over the last two seasons, Harrell has completed 49-of-88 pass attempts for 453 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Offensive lineman Jake Vermiglio has been signed to replace Harrell on the practice squad.
