Rodgers to Nelson springs Packers over Tampa; 35-26

It wasn’t the usual laughing affair for the defending Super Bowl champs.

Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman directed an eight-play, 91-yard scoring drive that ended with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams.

That brought the Bucs got to within 21-19 early in the fourth quarter.

On the next play, Tampa Bay tried to tie it with a 2-point conversion, but Winslow — who had a pair of big gains on the drive — dropped a catchable ball in the end zone.

The Packers answered back.

Running back James Starks did the majority of the work on the ensuing eight-play, 85-yard scoring drive that ended with a 2-yard touchdown run by John Kuhn.

Freeman then threw a touchdown to Dezmon Briscoe and the Buccaneers kicked the extra point to cut the Packers’ lead to 28-26 with 4:25 left.

Tampa Bay tried their second (first before half resulted in GB TD for Nelson) onside kick of the game, but the Packers recovered it again and Rodgers found Nelson for the second time on the afternoon to put the game away.

Rodgers finished with 299 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Nelson caught six passes for 123 yards and two scores.

Injury Note: Greg Jennings suffered a bruised shin.

Next: Thanksgiving, Thursday November 24 at Detroit Lions, 11:30 AM CT.
