Powerful Packers pummel hapless Vikings 45-7

“I’m sure there will be, obviously, more pressure, more scrutiny from the outside of this locker room,” Aaron Rodgers said, following the Packers 45-7 rout of Minnesota on Monday night. “But we’ve got a good locker room.”

Rodgers threw four touchdown passes, while Randall Cobb returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown, as the Packers defense contained Adrian Peterson and the Vikings en route to their fifteenth straight win (including Playoffs) dating back to last season.

For the potential MVP Rodgers, it was the seventh time this year he’s thrown for three-plus scoring tosses in a contest.  He has a remarkable 28 touchdowns, compared to only three interceptions.

“It’s (our) best game, because of the margin of victory,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “And at the end of the day, it’s about points.”

“I felt as a defense we owed it to ourselves to play a game like that,” cornerback Charles Woodson said. “Owed it to our fans, our team, especially our offense who’s been playing out of their minds this year. We needed a game like that. It feels good, but it’s still one game.”

At 9-0, the surging Packers host the Buccaneers at noon (Central) on Sunday, before they head to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day.
