Jermichael Finley wants to stay in Green Bay – even if he’s slapped the franchise tag

Packers tantalizing tight end Jermichael Finley wants to stay with the Packers according to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.  In fact if he doesn’t get a new contract, he is OK with being the Packers franchise player.

“If they do that, I’m down with that,” the former Longhorn said. “I ain’t going to be (ticked) off. I just love the game, and I was just blessed to be making money. I’m just taking it all in.”

“I want to stay here, no doubt,” the super-skilled Finley said. “This is a town, this is a team, (an) organization, you couldn’t ask for more. If they came to a conclusion (on a contract), I would look into it. I want to be a Packer for life, for sure. Hands down, I think this is the best organization for me.

“You can’t ask for a better city just because there’s nothing to do, for one thing. I’m going to be real with you, there’s less trouble you can get into. It’s first class in everything they do — contracts, around the building — everything’s first class. I love it. Hands down, I wouldn’t even debate with anyone about it.”

On the season, Jermichael has registered 25 catches, in which all but one have been a first down snag (20) or a touchdown haul (four), to go along with 334 receiving yards.
