Tedy Bruschi Thinks the Packers Are Taking It Too Easy

Former Pats LB Tedy Bruschi says that the Packers are missing on a good thing by not getting out and having practices during the summer while the lockout is ongoing.

ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi scolded the Packers for passing up what he said is a good opportunity to grow as a team.

“I’m surprised that a veteran like Donald Driver, a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers, that they haven’t organized any team activities yet,” Bruschi said on ESPN, via PFT.

“Next week is the ring ceremony. It’s perfect to say, ‘Let’s meet up a couple days early, let’s get a couple workouts in, and then let’s party at the ring ceremony.'”

Driver said the Packers are content to be working out on their own. Last month, Green Bay LB A.J. Hawk said he had heard that other player-organized workouts around the league had “just been a disaster.”

Bruschi — who won three Super Bowls with the Patriots in 2001, 2003 and 2004 — said player-led workouts would be an important sign that the defending champs intended to win another.

“Being the Super Bowl champions, you’d think they’d want to repeat,” Bruschi said. “We’re into June. It’s June now. You’ve had your little celebration the week after the Super Bowl. It’s time to move on.

“I think that they’re still worried about celebrating and basking in the glory of being a Super Bowl champion is a little bit worrisome if I were a Green Bay Packers fan.”
