Hawk Surprised by the Scandal at Ohio State

Football News Now reports that former OSU LB A.J. Hawk is a bit taken back by the scandal at Ohio State that ended up with coach Jim Tressel stepping down.

As former Ohio State University head coach Jim Tressel resigned over the Memorial Day weekend, more and more details have emerged about the allegations about players receiving improper benefits.

Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk played for Tressel for four seasons and he says that he never had any knowledge of the alleged rule breaking that was going on under Tressel’s watch.

“I have people on my team in Green Bay that try to joke with me and act like, OK we know people at Ohio State are doing that,” Hawk said “The crazy thing is, in my four years there, I never saw anything like that. … That never got inside the locker room, I would say. It was never anything I was aware of.

Hawk went on to say, “I’m definitely surprised with the stuff that’s coming out now. … I think there are definitely some guys that are a little bitter toward the school, some former players, that want to come out and make stuff public that may or may not be true.”

  1. It can’t be help that you may lose anyone you had been a long time friend/coach. The team must move on and focus for their goal. Team must not stop on keep moving because 1 comrade is lost.
