Jolly Still in Holding Pattern When it Comes to Reinstatement

The Green Bay Press Gazette points out that as of now, nothing has been settled when it comes to Johnny Jolly, as the commish says that nothing can be done regarding his reinstatement while the lockout is in effect.

Even though suspended Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly has applied for reinstatement, commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday that nothing can be done on his case as long as the lockout is in effect.

“No player transactions are allowed,” Goodell said. Jolly was suspended indefinitely last summer for violating the substance-abuse policy and was eligible to apply for reinstatement following the Super Bowl. Two days after the Super Bowl, his agent, Brian Overstreet, said that process was under way.

When asked whether Jolly was still in the Packers’ plans, McCarthy said: “Definitely. We’ll let the process take its course and we’ll see what happens.”
