Packers Not Ruling Out the Return of Cullen Jenkins

MLive.com reports that the Pack are not totally ruling out the return of Cullen Jenkins in 2011, but so far no contract has yet to be offered.

Former Central Michigan University standout Cullen Jenkins, a defensive end, started for the Packers but was not offered a contract extension even though he is set to become a free agent this season. The lack of an offer indicated to Jenkins that the Packers were not interested in retaining his services. But when asked, Green Bay GM Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy expressed a desire to keep Jenkins, who would be one of the top free agent targets if he’s allowed to test the market. “No, other than we would like to keep all of our free agents,” the Packers GM predictably responded. “We think that’s good business, good policy, and we’ll try with Cullen.” McCarthy was equally non-committal. “I have great respect for Cullen. But I’m not going to get into these types of decisions. It’s part of the business side of it. You’d like to have all your players back. (Let’s) just see what happens.”
