Packers Report Record $258M Revenue

According to Richard Ryman of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers turned more of a profit last year than they did the year before but are still concerned about increasing players expenses. The Packers said they are reporting their financial results the same as they have throughout the team’s history. Today they reported a record $258 million in revenue and net income of $5.2 million, an increase from $4 million in 2008-09.

They also said that players costs are increasing 11 percent annually while revenue is only increasing at 5 percent. “Player costs continue to grow at a rate faster than our revenue,” said Mark Murphy, president and CEO. Packers are still strong, but we do have some serious concerns about the system,” said Larry Weyers, team treasurer.
