Hurting Pack Appear Close to Inking Former Colt Matt Girodano

The Journal Sentinel reports the Packers are close to a deal with DB Matt Giordano:

Concerned they might have to go into the St. Louis game Sunday with just two healthy safeties, the Green Bay Packers worked out three defensive backs Tuesday and appear ready to sign one of them soon. The top choice appears to be Indianapolis veteran Matt Giordano, a four-year pro who started six of 55 games for the Colts before being released Sept. 6. Giordano, a fourth-round pick in 2005 out of the University of California, was cut when the Colts claimed linebacker Cody Glenn on waivers and needed a roster spot.
