A Few Surprises

Well the cuts are finally out and per usual, there are a few “eyebrow-raisers.” Two players who looked very impressive in the preseason were released, I’m speaking of Tyrell Sutton and Anthony Smith. Sutton and Lumpkin were both on the bubble, but, I must say, I felt Sutton showed enough to stick. Lumpkin was also let go. Hopefully, we can add at least one of these fine prospects to our Practice Squad. Anthony Smith cut. Really shocked me. A hustler, ball-hawk and excellent tackler, who came from the Steelers 3-4, I thought A. Smith would be our number three safety. Not so.

Ruvell Martin being cut also surprised me. Brian Brohm who played a solid, though not remarkable game vs. Tennessee behind our second string o-line was also cut loose. I guess Ted Thompsen thinks he’s not worth $2 million+ as a back-up. We’d have to agree. I’m certain he’ll land somewhere, but, at a fraction of his 2008 salary. Jamon Meredith was released. He is a developmental project, and may be retained on the Practice Squad. Danny Lansanah, played well and I’d think we’d like him on the P.S. as well. So, both free agent signings, Duke Preston and Anthony Smith have been cut loose. All three fullbacks have been retained and all should help our special teams play.

Must say I’m a bit perplexed of the choosing of Underwood and Aaron Rouse over Anthony Smith, but, I guess this is why I buy foreclosures and Ted Thompson is the GM and Mike McCarthy is the Head Coach. Four players to IR: Justin Harrell, Patrick Lee, Evan Moore and Charlie Peprah. I guess the powers that be, want to give J. Harrell one last chance and another ten to twelve months to heal from his back surgeries and repeated injuries. I hope their patience pays-off. It’s certainly a gamble. Patrick Lee showed next to nothing this preseason and 2010 will be his last chance to earn a roster spot. Okay, this is our team, let’s back them and all the coaches this 2009 season.

Hey guys, I’m not sure if you noticed but Jason Wilde isn’t writing for the Wisconsin State Journal anymore! After searching I found him on espnmadison.com and espnmilwaukee.com, not sure why he left but I’m glad I found him. I thought I’d pass it along to anyone else who was looking for, in my opinion, the best Packers reporte

It sounds like you’re a very frustrated Bears fan. Also, you need to work on enlarging your rather sparse vocabulary.

I’m sorry if your mommy didn’t love you or you got spanked for wetting the bed. Grow up.

The Bears got beat in a tight game in which they played their hearts out. Cutler threw four picks. The last one sealed the win for Green Bay. This will most likely turn out to be Cutler’s worst game of the year…

Consider going to “anger management” classes, taking prozac or both.
