Woodson Likes the Direction of the New Packers D

CB Charles Woodson, embracing defensive coordinator Dom Caper’s new 3-4 defensive scheme, as quoted in The (Madison, Wis.) Capital Times:

“There is a lot to it. You’ve definitely got to be on your P’s and Q’s as far as making calls and making sure everybody’s on the same page. But when everything’s clicking, it’s a very, very fun defense. You get a chance to read a quarterback a lot more, look at the offensive sets a lot more, sit back there and read those type of things. A lot of mine came from playing off and just being able to read receivers coming out of their breaks and that sort of thing. I have no problem with that, and I don’t think anybody else does.”

Woodson continued: “I can play football. I don’t know (anything) about not being able to play this just because I’ve been pressing. I won’t speak for (Harris), but I’m sure he feels the same way. I think we are better. I know there’s been a lot of questions about our personnel, and do we have the right people to fit the defense, but I think we do.”
