Raji Remains the Last Unsigned Packer

And then there was one. B.J. Raji is the last to sign out of the Packers draft choices, and right now the team is getting anxious to get him in camp ready to go:

B.J. Raji spent most of Friday in a holding pattern, waiting for something to break in his agent’s negotiations with the Green Bay Packers, but unless some significant progress is made early Saturday morning, the rookie first-round draft pick is in jeopardy of missing Saturday’s first training camp practice.

A source familiar with the negotiations said on Friday evening that the holdup was due to the fact that the players picked right before and after Raji – tackle Eugene Monroe (No. 8 overall by Jacksonville) and receiver Michael Crabtree (No. 10 overall by San Francisco), respectively – also were without contracts as of Friday evening. Teams and agents usually try to get salaries to fall in line in a slotting system, but the players drafted Nos. 8 through 12 all were without deals on Friday.
