Kampman Moving to Outside LB a Hot Topic as Camp Gets Near

Website Amarillo.com today has thrown up their 10 NFL questions as camps open, and their number 7 question has to do with the Packers:

7.How will Aaron Kampman adjust to outside linebacker? The Green Bay Packers hired Dom Capers to revamp their defense, turning them from a 4-3 team to a 3-4. The NFC North / Central hasn’t had a 3-4 defensive team since 1994. In the NFC, only three teams run the 3-4, including the Packers, so Capers thinks that will give them an advantage. But it also means a position change for their best player. Kampman, a two-time Pro Bowler at left end, now is the left outside linebacker. His biggest challenge will be dropping in coverage.

  1. Kampman has always been versatile. He’ll be able to step into the new role. I think the big question is whether he WANTS to fit.
