ESPN The Magazine: Packers #13 in Ultimate Rankings – “Lambeau Field is a Juggernaut”

ESPN The Magazine puts out its Ultimate Standings every year. The standings judge every major sports team on “how much they give back to fans for all the emotion, money, and time fans invest in their favorite teams.” In the current state of our world, it is even more important for sports to give back to fans. The Green Bay Packers organization is built on this foundation, quite literally.

Thanks to rise of baseball and successful teams like the Red Wings and Cavaliers, the Packers came in at #13 overall, down from #4 last year. However, Lambeau Field maintains the top spot for stadium experience again for the second year in a row and 4th year out of five. Since the magazine started the Ultimate Standings, Lambeau Field has been ranked in the overall top four every year and the best NFL stadium experience every year.

Other notes: The Milwaukee Brewers deserve a shout out for coming in at #7 overall. A young and dedicated squad lead by the one two punch combination of Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun, along with some of the cheapest beer in baseball also gives back to the Wisconsin sports community.

The Milwaukee Bucks suck. At #110 overall, they force fans in Wisconsin to make the most out of baseball and football, while owner Herb Kohl publicly begs for fan support.

Also, the Vikings are football’s least valuable franchise. This hated NFC North rival is pretty good at football, but ESPN points to the worst venue in sports as a potential death threat to football in the twin cities.
