The draft was a hot ticket for TV viewers in Milwaukee, as a lot of people stayed at home this past weekend locally to catch the event. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that among metered markets, ESPN’s coverage of the first five hours of the draft on Saturday delivered the fourth-highest rating in Milwaukee, a 6.2, or 56,131 households.
That rating was up 15% from the 5.4 rating of last year for the event, and is the highest in this market since 2006 (7.3 rating), when Ohio State linebacker A.J. Hawk was taken by Green Bay No. 5 overall. The markets with higher ratings for the first five hours of the draft on Saturday were Columbus, Ohio (7.4), New Orleans (6.9) and Cleveland (6.8). Indianapolis (6.2) finished tied with Milwaukee.
