Now that Dom Capers is the new defensive coordinator with the Pack and they are going to a 3-4, the team is trying to make that move without much fanfare. The following tidbit about the move comes from today’s Journal Sentinel:
Packers General manager Ted Thompson has said publicly that the Green Bay Packers’ switch to a 3-4 defense is “not a big deal.” But his personnel staff and scouts have at least slightly adjusted how they gather their information on defensive players, specifically in the front seven. Going back to the East-West Shrine Game last week and continuing through the Senior Bowl tonight, the Packers asked players how they think they would fit into a 3-4 scheme.
