Freeman: Packers Will Start Fresh in ’09

Antonio Freeman predicted that at the very least, the Packers will have something of a clean slate in 2009 because the Brett Favre saga will be far enough in the past. “This year going forward it will be fresh,” Freeman said. “Aaron Rodgers will be accustomed to it, he’ll know what’s going on, he’ll know how to deal with it. Not that he dealt with it wrong or bad this year, (but) maybe some of those distractions will be out of there, and people will be more content and settled in with the fact that this is our guy, we’re going forward, we can’t control a lot of that other stuff, and just continue to bring some playmakers in. Free agency is always important in this business, and I know the Packers historically haven’t been a huge free-agency organization. But free agency is going to be key now.”
