Game Time – 12 Noon, Central, October 5, 2008
Location – Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
Green Bay Injuries
Hall, Hunter, Lumpkin, Rouse, Rodgers, Woodson, Collins, Jones, Bigby, Clifton, Hawk, Pickett, Harris (definitely will not play), Jenkins
Atlanta Injuries
Jefferson, Robinson, Baker, Jackson, Malloy, Weiner
The Atlanta Falcons come into Lambeau Field averaging 22.5 points per game and 338.5 yards per game, against a Packers team that has averaged 27.2 points and 319.8 yards. Al Harris and Cullen Jenkins are definitely not available for Green Bay, and Aaron Rodgers is still questionable as of yesterday, even though he’s determined to play. Atlanta holds a personnel advantages due to having a much healthier team.
Both teams are reeling from losses last week, but Atlanta definitely took a hard hit from the Panthers, losing 24-9. Green Bay lost to Tampa Bay, 30-21.
If Rodgers starts, expect the short pass to be the staple of the Packers, while Matt Ryan will probably throw the ball 30 or so times to Roddy White and Michel Jenkins. Ryan Grant will probably have a significant number of touches for Green Bay, and hopefully the fundamental corrections that the offensive line has worked on this week will pay dividends.
This game will be telling for both teams, since they are both 2-2 and desperately needing an additional early-season win.
