  1. Zac says:

I am not a Packers fan but a Colts fan; however, I have great respect for Brett Favre. If I were a Packers fan I would be ashamed of my organization right now. Ted Thompson’s profound disloyalty blows my mind. Didn’t brett favre give sixteen great years to the Packers? Don’t the Packers owe him either a quick release or a fair competition for the job? I use the word “competition” lightly since a competition between these two would be like a Pop Warner team playing against the Patriots. I mean, Aaron Rodgers just isn’t that good. Favre was unequivocally a top five quarterback in the league last year and the Packers are “moving on without him”? What?!? From a pure football standpoint, that decision is inane. From a moralistic standpoint, it is borderline repugnant. Ted Thompson, you should be very, very ashamed. Favre will be the real winner in this situation b/c he will be motivated more than ever and b/c he will walk away from this looking like the good guy, while Ted Thompson will end up being about as popular as Jesse Jackson at an Obama rally. Aaron Rodgers (although none of this is his fault) will not be able to handle the lofty expectations and will ultimately lead to a Packers implosion. And it’s a shame, too, because all of this could have been averted if the Packers would have let Favre come back and fight for his position.
