Packers Finish Draft

The Packers drafted a total of nine players in the 2008 NFL Draft, six of them on Sunday.  General Manager Ted Thompson traded his first-round pick, the 30th, to the New York Jets in exchange for an extra second-round selection which was used on Kansas State wide receiver Jordy Nelson.  Thompson also picked up Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm in the second round.  Other selections included Texas tight end Jermichael Finley with the 91st pick, Wake Forest defensive end Jeremy Thompson at 102 after a trade up with the Jets, Central Florida guard Josh Sitton with pick 135, Louisville tackle Breno Giacomini at 150 after trading down with the Vikings, LSU quarterback Matt Flynn at 209 with the other pick from Minnesota, and San Diego State wide receiver Brett Swain with pick 217 after trading down with the Rams.
