Culpepper Visits with Packers as a Possible Backup QB

Posted by Matt Loede on April 23rd, 2008 filed in News

While Aaron Rodgers is going to get every shot to succeed as the Packers starting QB, the team will start looking for quality backups, and today they got a visit from a possible backup, that being former Viking, Dolphin and Raiders QB Daunte Culpepper. The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that Culpepper, who is a free agent, was in town talking to the team today. Last season in Oakland, Culpepper played in seven games, throwing for 1331 yards, 5 TD’s and 5 picks. He has played in three different cities the last three years, and over that time has thrown 13 TD’s and 20 picks. He may be a short-term solution and will come cheap to the Pack as a backup.
