Franks Gone; Williams Slapped with Franchise Tag

Posted by Matt Loede on February 21st, 2008 filed in News

The Packers released eight-year veteran Bubba Franks on Wednesday.  They also slapped defensive tackle Corey Williams with the franchise tag.  As a franchise player, Williams can negotiate with other teams.  However, if a team signs him to a deal and the Packers don’t match the offer, that team has to give up two first-round picks.

    Good move by the Pack

I called it all along. From the middle of last years training camp.

I love it when a plan comes together! Harrell is still a little boy amongst a bunch of Alpha Males (in Jolly and Williams) who are the future.

Harrell will definitely need to eat his Wheaties if he wants to be anything more than a substitute for the starters.

Packers top two needs this year are DB/CB and TE.
