ESPN’s Joyner Calls Driver Overrated
Posted by Matt Loede on February 16th, 2008 filed in OpinionsESPN columnist K.C. Joyner says that Pack wide out Donald Driver is Overrated in his latest column. Here are his thoughts in regards to Driver.
Donald Driver, WR, Green Bay — He tied for 17th in the league in receptions, was 20th in receiving yards and was 21st in receiving yards per game. Four other Green Bay players had more touchdown receptions than Driver did. It’s not that he is a poor receiver by any stretch, but nothing in his numbers suggested he should have been in the Pro Bowl.

He is probably right in terms of the pro bowl. Driver had a solid year, but there was nothing elite about it.
Really, most Packers receivers over the Favre era have had somewhat inflated stats and Driver is the latest product of Favre.
But he is a hard worker and a guy I’m thankful to have on the team. I never anticipate seeing his name among the Hall Of Fame players wrapped around Lambeau.

Overrated? No way. The guy is the bravest man on any field he steps on to. He would have had all kinds of yards had he not just been one gun in the arsenal. Phooey.
