Packers Prepare To Pick Off Giants En Route To Superbowl

Favre vs Strahan

The Packers are ready to pick off the New York Giants Sunday in the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field.  The Giants have been dubbed “road warriors.”   After losing their first road game of the season, they’ve  won an NFL-record nine straight away from home.  New York pulled out a thrilling 21-17 victory over the Cowboys last Sunday in Dallas.  Brandon Jacobs ran for the go-ahead score, and Eli Manning threw for two touchdowns in the win.  The Giants are in the NFC title game for the first time since making it to Super Bowl 35 during the 2000 season.

After finishing the regular season 13-and-3, the Packers stomped the Seattle Seahawks 42-20  in a blizzard at Lambeau Field.   Brett Favre threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns for the Pack.  Green Bay is playing for a trip to the Super Bowl for the first time since losing Super Bowl 32.  The Packers have won four of the last five meetings between the two clubs.  Green Bay is also 4-and-1 all-time in the postseason against New York.  These two teams met earlier this season in Week Two at the Meadowlands, with the Packers coming away with a 35-13 victory.
