All Phases Firing as Pack Pounds Vikings 34-0

Favre Happy

Packers quarterback Brett Favre did what you would expect from him this season and the Packers’ running game even showed up. Favre passed for three touchdowns and running back Ryan Grant ran for a TD as Green Bay shut out the Minnesota Vikings 34-0.

The Vikings loss was rather costly this Sunday afternoon, as running back Adrian Peterson was injured during the game. Green Bay was ahead 27-0 when during the third quarter, Peterson caught a pass from Vikings quarterback Brooks Bollinger and was tackled low by Green Bay cornerback Al Harris. Peterson spent several moments on the ground, but was helped to the bench. He did not return to the game.

Favre, during the game, joined Dolphins former QB Dan Marino as the only QB’s who have passed for 60,000 career yards. Favre went 33-for-46 for 351 yards with 3 passing TD’s; RB Ryan Grant rushed for 101 yards and a TD, while wide receiver Ruvell Martin caught 4 passes for 57 yards – 2 of those receptions went for TD’s.

Minnesota QB Brooks Bollinger had a subpar effort; he went 16-for-26 for 176 yards with 1 interception. Peterson led all Vikings rushers with 45 yards on 11 rushes, while both WR Robert Ferguson and RB Chester Taylor had 59 yards each in reception yardage. Green Bay (8-1) next takes on the Carolina Panthers next Sunday afternoon.
