McGee

Funeral services are being planned for former Packers great Max McGee.  McGee, the man who unexpectedly scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl history was killed in an accident at his Deephaven, Minnesota home Saturday afternoon. He fell from the roof of his home while trying to blow leaves.  Back in 1967, Mcgee was still hung over from a night of partying when he was  thrust into the Packers’ starting Superbowl lineup due to an injury to Boyd Dowler.  McGee finished 1967’s Super Bowl One with seven receptions for 138 yards and two TDs as Green Bay topped the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10.  He is survived by his wife, Denise, and four children.  McGee was 75 years old.
