Peprah Gets A Shot, Jackson Hoping To Play In Opener

As the Packers prepare to play the Tennessee Titans tomorrow night, it looks like safety Charlie Peprah is going to get a shot. Coach Mike McCarthy says Marquand Manuel probably won’t play against Tennessee. Atari Bigby and Nick Collins will start . McCarthy wants to see Bigby play the whole first half before giving him the starting position. Injured rookie Aaron Rouse won’t play, and that leaves Peprah, Tyrone Culver and Alvin Nnabbuife to finish up. Peprah says how he performs is going to dictate his future.
In other news, running back Brandon Jackson says he anticipates being able to play in the season opener against Philadelphia, despite the mild concussion he suffered on Sunday. Korey Hall has won the fullback job. McCarthy had considered not using Brett Favre against Tennessee tomorrow night. Now he says Favre will play two or three series.

I think Jackson does start & plays well. A lot was made about how he couldn’t handle blitz pickup but he looked decent in the pre-season games and he’s versatile out of the backfield - a key skill for Favre who likes to dump the ball to his backs.
