Ferguson’s Career in Green Bay Over

The future is going to be somewhat clear very soon for Packers WR Robert Ferguson, as either he will be in another uniform through a trade, or he will be on the streets looking to play for another uniform. One thing is for sure, his career in Green Bay is over. After Thursday night’s practice, Packers coach Mike McCarthy stated that Ferguson will be either traded or cut. “We’ll have a decision on exactly what his future is in the morning,” McCarthy said.

The seventh-year vet had a solid 2003 season, catching 38 passes for 530 yards, but since then has been going downhill in terms of numbers. 2004 he pulled in 24 passes for 367 yards, 05 he caught 27 catches for 366 yards, and then last season it was 5 passes for 31 yards. He spent 12 games on injured reserve with a foot injury.

His career has been defined by injuries, as he has missed a total of 31 games since 2001 due to being hurt. The 27-year-old may have a tough time finding a spot on another roster with his history of injuries. If he does, he likely would be a 4th or 5th wide out.
