Packers Bask In Victory Over Steelers

The Packers took Sunday off to bask in their preseason opener victory over Pittsburgh. Aaron Rodgers produced the Packers’ only touchdown and led a pair of scoring drives, as Green Bay topped Pittsburgh 13-9 on Saturday night. Rodgers finished 18-for-27 for 168 yards after Brett Favre played the first four series’ and ended 2-for-7 for seven yards on the night. Green Bay was making its first-ever appearance at Heinz Field, having not played in Pittsburgh since a 1998 trip to Three Rivers Stadium. Packers coach Mike McCarthy, a native of Pittsburgh, returned home for the first time as an NFL head coach and left with a victory in his team’s preseason debut. The Packers host the Seattle Seahawks in an exhibition game next Saturday night.
